LORIS MILLONI SIMON

Entry-level (junior) web developer

I am a web developer currently pursuing a degree in Information Systems at State University of Tocantins (UNITINS), Brazil. My studies focus on the development, planning, evaluation, and management of modern information technologies. In my classes and projects, I extensively work with Java. I started developing in 2021, when I participated in a one-year Bootcamp until december 2022, where I honed my web development skills. Throughout the program, I completed various exercises and worked on substantial projects using code versioning tools such as Git and GitHub. Additionally, I gained proficiency in languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, React, Node.js, Express, Sequelize, MySQL, HTML, and CSS. Working collaboratively in teams was an integral part of my Bootcamp experience, and I find it highly motivating to collaborate with others. Currently, I am strengthening my Java knowledge while independently studying Ruby on Rails. This additional focus will enable me to pursue a career path in DevOps and Backend development.

MOST RECENT EXPERIENCE

Pequeno Cotolengo - Frontend University Class web page made for a Social Organization

Front-end web development project for the Dom Orione Church: Pequeno Cotolengo was an enriching experience for me. We created a home page, an about page, and a form page for volunteers and donors. I presented my initial project in class and then collaborated with four fellow students whom I carefully selected. Since they were young and inexperienced, I opted to use HTML, JavaScript, and pure CSS to provide them with a solid foundation before introducing frameworks like React. I also mentored them in using Git and GitHub, emphasizing the importance of coding versioning and committing changes. Additionally, I designed the required form fields, crafted the page layouts, and composed engaging text to showcase the organization. The project was immensely rewarding as it allowed me to grasp the needs of a social organization and share my knowledge with less-experienced students.

Ubirits - Bootcamp App

We developed and integrated a comprehensive back-end and front-end application for a beer delivery store. The application included a user login page for customers, employees, and managers to access and create user accounts in the database. We also implemented a products and sales page, allowing users to select products and track the delivery status. This status change and order updates were visible to both customers and employees. To facilitate this, we utilized an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) and designed a MySQL database using Node.js, Express, and Sequelize ORM, following the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture. Additionally, our REST API enabled complete CRUD operations for roles, sales, and products in the database. The application, a play on the name "Uber Eats" and a local term for beer "birita", served as a convenient beer delivery solution.

Since I lack work experience in tech companies, my previous work experience is listed as the final section on this page
